Introducing The Dangerous Liaisons Collection

Let them play tennis!

As excitements builds for the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, what you may not know is that in 1900, in that very same city at those very same games history was made. After years of intensive lobbying for the first time in the legacy of the tournament, women were permitted to compete. The sport? Tennis. Thus the women of the Paris 1900 Olympics created a seminal step change for equitable empowerment and marked the birth of globally recognised female sporting icons - all of whom were tennis players.

In celebration of 124 years since these game-changing players stepped out on court aceing their way to history against the backdrop of the most storied city in the world, the award-winning sustainable British tennis brand EXEAT has chosen one Paris’s most famous residents, the tennis loving inimitable last queen of France, Marie Antoinette, as this season’s muse.

Inspired by founder Laura Ward’s visit to Antoinette’s private apartments at Versailles and its famous tennis court upon which which the queen enjoyed many games, this glittering palace and original global style icon are the creative canvass for EXEAT’s Dangerous Liaisons Collection.

Le Jardin Tennis Dress

This season’s muse Marie Antoinette was an exceedingly keen gardener who transformed the grounds of her Petit Trianon Palace into an idyllic floral oasis regarded as one of the world’s finest gardens. This heavenly horticulture was the inspiration for EXEAT’s very first summer print ‘Le Jardin’ which sees a joyful explosion of English roses intertwined with tennis racquets and tumbling strawberries - all brought to life by the award-winning British print designer Jemma Mundy. Le Jardin Tennis Dress is spun from butter soft recycled Dupont fabric and features our signature elevated Peter Pan collar, trio of over-sized golden buttons at the neck and deeply chic razor sharp Power Pleats that shake and shimmy at your every move.
